While the shadows hide creaking bones and weathered skin.
Daena reflects the light
You see, she serves as a mirror to the soul. Her eyes are your eyes, her lips, also yours. Her ragged and wrinkled cape is equally yours as much as the golden embroidery or golden hair or silver, or white. She is a reflection of your life.

She stands before the way, the Gate Keeper | AnansiAnansi, the Keeper, the Teacher, the Weaver - the god of all stories - West African and Caribbean folklore that originated in the Ashanti Tribe of Ghana - Anansi (or Aunt Nancy) a Spider who often appears as an old man.In the Caribbean, Anansi is often celebrated as a symbol of slave resistance and survival.
This painting was just completed after being started in 2013, then being abandoned and lost for a number of years.
